TODAY IN MUSIC: “Stop! In the Name of Love” by The Supremes hit #1 on the Billboard pop singles chart on March 27, 1965. Written by the legendary Motown production team of Holland-Dozier-Holland, the song was included on their sixth studio album More Hits by The Supremes, and was the 4th of their total of 12 number one hits. “Stop! In the Name of Love” is included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s permanent collection of the 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
