TODAY IN MUSIC: On April 10, 1976, the double live album Frampton Comes Alive! by Peter Frampton, reached number one on the US album chart. Frampton Comes Alive! is one of the best selling live albums ever in the United States. Three singles were released from the record: “Show Me the Way”, “Baby, I Love Your Way” and “Do You Feel Like We Do”. All three reached the Top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. After releasing four solo albums to little success, Frampton Comes Alive! was a commercial breakthough for Frampton. The album was recorded in the summer and fall of 1975, amassed from shows at Winterland in San Francisco, Long Island Arena in Commack, New Jersey, and the SUNY Plattsburgh campus. Originally intended as a single LP, A&M Records suggested expanding it to two LPs after hearing the initial concert recordings. In 2001, a 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the album was released, containing additional tracks and resequenced to more accurately reflect the set list during the original concerts. Frampton Comes Alive! spent a total of 10 weeks at number one. #framptoncomesalive #peterframpton #billboard200 #numberonealbums #livealbum #showmetheway #babyiloveyourway #doyoufeellikewedo #billboardmag #winterland #sanfrancisco #longislandarena #commack #newjersey #sunyplattsburgh #aandmrecords #concertalbum #1 #tonyatlarge #eclectimaniacradioshow #todayinmusic #musichistory
