
TODAY IN MUSIC: On May 1, 2007, Bjork released her sixth studio album Volta. Bjork partnered with various artists for the record including long-time collaborator Mark Bell, plus new producers Timbaland and Danja. Volta was critically well received upon release, becoming Bjork’s only album to reach the top ten in the United States and was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. Five singles were released from Volta: “Earth Intruders”, Innocence”, “Declare Independence”, “Wanderlust”, and “The Dull Flame of Desire”. Volta reached the top ten in several other countries including Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Mexico, Portugal and Switzerland.
