Today in Music: 6/20/19

TODAY IN MUSIC: Foreigner’s second studio album Double Vision was released on June 20, 1978, on Atlantic Records. Double Vision peaked at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The album has sold in excess of 7 million copies and is one of Foreigner’s best selling releases.. Double Vision produced three hit singles: “Hot Blooded” (#3), “Blue Morning Blue Day” (#15) and the title track. “Double Vision” (the song) was inspired by a New York Rangers hockey game that was on television. After the goalie was helped off the ice after a brutal hit, lead vocalist Lou Gramm recalled, “The announcer said (the goalie) was going to be alright, but was experiencing double vision. A siren went off in my head…Double Vision. Perfect!” A little Foreigner trivia: Foreigner lead guitarist Mick Jones is the step-father of producer Mark Ronson. #foreigner #doublevision #foreignerdoublevision #billboard200 #classicrock #classicalbums #hotblooded #bluemorningblueday #newyorkrangers #hockeygame #lougramm #mickjones #markronson #tonyatlarge #eclectimaniacradioshow #todayinmusic #musichistory
