Never stop dreaming…

Love, like a signal you call
Touching my body, my soul
Bring to me, you to meet me here

Home, be the temple of your heart
Home, be the body of your love
Just like holy water to my lips
Yes, I do know how I survive
Yes, I do know why I’m alive
To love and be with you
Day by day by day by day

Time, time again, it is said
We will hear, we will see
See it all in His wisdom hear

His truth will abound the land
This truth will abound the land
This state of independence shall be
This state of independence shall be

Happy MLK, Jr. Day. #loveistheanswer

Coachella 2019

In case you have not heard, Coachella has released the official line up for 2019.

Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande (the youngest ever female headliner) will headline the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which returns to the Empire Polo Club in Indio for twin weekends April 12-14 and April 19-21. Tickets for Coachella 2019 go on sale Friday, January 4th at 11 a.m. PST.

Other notable artists on the lineup include Solange, Weezer, The 1975, Janelle Monae, Lizzo, Virgil Abloh (Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton) and actor Idris Elba. Abloh and Elba, making their Coachella debuts, will perform DJ sets.

Coachella is also known for its taste-making prowess (artists such as Amy Winehouse, Childish Gambino, Arcade Fire and The Killers were booked long before they were household names) and this year’s lineup has some stars on the rise, including 17-year-old singer Billie Eilish.  For more information, head over to coachella.com.

Studio 54 Documentary

imagesMe and my good friends and co-hosts from the ECLECTIMANIAC Radio Show, Seth Davis and Jeff McKinney, recently checked out the new Studio 54 documentary at the 19th Annual FilmColumbia Festival. It’s not so much that you learn anything new (the 54 legend is well-documented), but there is something special in hearing the story told by Ian Schrager. Speaking candidly about that chapter in his life as never before, he is the only person (other than his best friend and business partner, the late Steve Rubell), who can truly tell this tale. There’s a real sense of being taken “behind the rope” here and getting a fresh perspective of this famous story…from the person who lived it. Directed by Matt Tyrnauer, the film was introduced by FilmColumbia’s own Managing Director Calliope Nichols, who worked at Studio 54 as a coat check girl during its heyday. After the screening, she held a Q&A with the audience filled with anecdotes that only a coat check girl at Studio 54 would have. Variety called it a “thrilling and definitive documentary”. I completely agree.  Watch the trailer here.
